This week we wrapped up our Healthy Body unit and the best part of the week was creating a life size body! We started with the digestive system and added the lungs, heart and brain to show what our insides look like.  After adding the organs, we drew red and blue lines to illustrate arteries and veins.

The K-kids learned about the respiratory system and the important role of the lungs.  They created their own lungs by labeling the trachea, alveoli, and bronchioles.  The kiddos got to test out their finished product!

Language Arts
In stations this week, the children completed a stamp and spell activity with different vocabulary, a word family sort, and sight word spin activity.  In reading groups, I continue to challenge the kiddos with new books and they are doing a wonderful job sounding out new words and using their Eagle Eye to understand picture clues!

Also, The K-kids learned about making personal connections to stories this week. We read the story, Wemberley Worried and drew a picture to connect with a specific event in the story.

Math
In math stations, the children solved addition and subtraction story problems using manipulatives! They loved creating their own with a partner, too!

Watercolor turkeys- These colorful creations are displayed on the outside bulletin board.
